That special triplet bond.

Hilarious! Absolutely hilarious!

I assume, because you can joke about it now, that Eve's finger is doing okay? How is it?

It's much better - thank you for asking! We had a hellacious trip to Immediate Care that I am trying to erase from my memory but by the next day she was pretty much back to her old self. It didn't even seem to hurt her by the next day. It wasn't fractured, fortunately, and everyone thinks the nail will grow back just fine.

I just hope she doesn't remember anything about the experience, though she is still talking about it at this point. ("I got a boo-boo! Mommy shut the door on my finger!")

Oh, I was feeling so bad for little Eve until I read the last two sentences, and then I couldn't help laughing out loud!!! At least the two others didn't start screaming in phantom triplet pain ... that would probably have made you and Eve cry even harder. :)

My dad accidentally slammed the car trunk on my little brother's fingers when he was four or five. Dad felt so terrible! But my brother healed right up. Unlike when a kid in preschool slammed a wooden brick on his pinky (and literally flattened it).

Hey, your girls were just making lemonade out of someone else's lemons. That's rather enterprising on their part!
i think Lily and Julia are just immune to Eve's drama. :-) It's a classic case of the Triplet Who Cried Wolf (or Smashed Finger, as the case may be.)

Or... maybe I'm just recalling the early days of Eve playing the role of Howler Monkey!
"savages"

That's hilarious. Thank God you can joke about it now...

...until Julia and Lily end up being performance artists in NYC, famous for their blood paintings.

toooo funny!! you need to keep this story for when they're adults!!
Awesome ... you made the [life is good] page! However, it's under the heading "A Grandfather's Love" ... not sure how that ties in???
Yikes! Thanks for pointing that out. I emailed the editor. And if anyone came here expecting to hear a moving family story... my apologies, and I hope you weren't too horrified!
Yay! I recommended you for [life is good] I'm so glad they put you up there... although what it has to do with grandfathers, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the recommendation! I don't quite get the heading either...
What a great story! LOL

Glad to hear the kiddo is doing well.
This post had quite a twist at the end that gave me a good laugh!
